The Nets NEED Ben Simmons

The Simmons/Harden trade was arguably the most-lopsided in NBA history.  Both players are generally considered to be perennial all-stars.  So a fairer trade would have looked more like Simmons, a player with mental health issues, being traded for Harden, a player with physical health issues.  And if anything, the Nets should've been compelled to add a sweetener since the Beard is significantly older than Simmons in NBA years.

Instead, the Sixers also gave up Seth Curry - one of the best 3pt shooters in the league - Andre Drummond - one of the best rebounders in the league - and two 1st round draft picks, thus gambling with their present and future.  Well here at NBA Inception, we don't take the simpleton approach to analyzing the NBA.  If a trade is that lopsided on the surface, then there must be something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about.

And concerning that matter, my theory is that no one really knows if Ben Simmons will ever play again?  Mental illnesses like his are easy to make fun of, but at the end of the day it's like WTF?!

I was expecting dude to suit up the moment he landed in Brooklyn.  Instead we have to wait for 'rehabilitation', 'getting into NBA shape', or whatever TF niggas be talking about these days, with no deadline in sight.  Michael Jordan retired for almost an entire two seasons, came back to the NBA completely out of basketball shape according to experts, practiced like once and suited TF up.  Now you have these sissyfitters going through physical therapy like an entire year and then when they come back sitting on the bench, eating cheetos and shit, because 'they're not in NBA shape'.

The Simmons/Harden trade is also one of the most intelligent I've ever seen.  Ben Simmons needs Kyrie and KD like Kyrie and KD need Ben Simmons.

The Nets and Lakers have the same problem - untouchable superstars whose egos are so big that they're basically uncoachable.  As exceptional a passer/shooter LBJ may be, the Lakers' record would be so much better if he focused more on playing the post than PG.  And it's basically the same thing with KD and Kyrie, like once you put the ball in their hands, there's no way of predicting what they're going to do with it.  You know what I'm saying?  They depend more on luck than strategy.  Shit like that might've worked back in the day.  But I remember once watching some karate flick where some dude dropped a proverb like 'even an old king must respect the strength of the youth'.  So now you have teams running around like the Grizzlies, and it's like where's Ben Simmons?

Because you see, if a coach is unable to force a superstar to give up the point, then that means there has to be another star player on the roster who compels him to do so.  For instance when Harden was in Brooklyn, you see neither that KD nor Kyrie had any issue with him running the point.  And Ben Simmons falls into that same category, a PG who actually demands that type of respect.  And the best thing about it is that he doesn't even shoot.

Ben has been going through hell the past couple of years with people criticizing him for not shooting enough.  But believe me, he won't have that problem with KD and Kryie by his side.

CONCLUSION

The Nets are so talented that no matter what seed they come into the Playoffs, you can't count them out.  But forget about them 'getting it together' right now, unless Ben Simmons suits up ASAP.

The Beard was playing with like a pot belly at the beginning of the season.  And the Nets needs Simmons' presence to really tip the scale, even if by perception only, in their favor.

Otherwise, I may even suggest something as radical as starting Patty Mills at the point, but that would probably create more problems than it solves.  And even then, KD and Kyrie would treat him more like a 2guard anyway.
